Delete your account

You can ask us to close your Plug & Play account and remove your data at any time. This page explains exactly what happens, what we have to keep, and why.

Request deletion

Enter the email address the account uses. We will confirm it belongs to you before removing anything.

Not deleting your account? This is also how to ask for a copy of your data or to have something corrected. Say which in the message below — nothing is deleted unless you ask for it.

Two ways to ask

  • In the app — Plug & Play POS admin → Settings → Delete account. Your email is filled in for you.
  • Here — the form above. Use this if you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in.

Both arrive in the same place. Submitting twice does not create two requests.

What happens next

A person reviews every request. That is deliberate, and it is a protection rather than a delay: this form is open to anyone, so we confirm the request really comes from the account holder before destroying anything. An automatic system that acted on an unverified email address would be a way to delete somebody else's business.

We action requests within 30 days. We use the email address you give us only to deal with your request.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in, so the account can no longer be used.
  • Your name, phone number and profile photo.
  • The names and phone numbers of the staff accounts you created.
  • Your product catalogue, categories, and uploaded product images.
  • Your business logo, brand colours and settings.
  • Your stock levels and stock-movement history.
  • Your tables and floor layout, if you used them.
  • Any customer records you chose to keep — names, phone numbers and email addresses of your shoppers.
  • The copy held on each device, which is cleared when that device next signs in as anyone else.

What we keep, and for how long

Completed sales. The record of each sale — its date, its line items, its tax and its total — is retained. These are your business's books, and tax and company law require them to be kept for years after the transaction, whether or not you keep using our software. Deleting them on request would put you in breach rather than protect you.

Retained sales are separated from your login: they no longer identify you as a user of the product, they are not visible in any app, and they are used for nothing except meeting that legal obligation. They are removed once the retention period expires.

Payment records. Razorpay, who process our subscription payments, hold their own record of transactions under their own retention rules as a regulated payment processor. We cannot delete those on your behalf, and neither can you ask us to — you would need to approach them. We never held your card or bank details in the first place.

A record of your request. We keep the fact that you asked, the reference we gave you and the date we actioned it. It is how we can show a request was honoured.

If you want your data before it goes

Export it first — deletion is not reversible. The admin portal can export your orders as a CSV from the Orders screen, and your product list is visible under Products. Do this before you send the request; once an account is closed we cannot restore it.

Deleting a staff member instead

If you only want to remove one employee's access, you do not need this page: deactivate them under Staff in the admin portal. Their sales history stays attached to your business, which is what you want — a shift's takings should not disappear because the person who rang them up has left.
